Formally known as Strabane & District Community Network, Rural North West Community Support was established in 1993 with the support of Strabane District Council and Rural Community Network to represent community and voluntary groups across the area. With offices in Newtownstewart and the Vale Centre in Greysteel, Rural North West Community Support is one of the 9 Local Rural Support Networks, funded by DARD, who provide a key 'gateway' role as a point of contact for communities, channeling information to and from groups.

The Network sends a monthly flyer to the rural community and voluntary groups in the Strabane, Derry/Londonderry and Limavady areas. The flyer updates the community sector on upcoming events, funding opportunities, closing dates and deadlines and other items of interest.
